Senior Attorney: Richard C. Wayne, Sr.

Richard Wayne has been practicing as an attorney in Atlanta since 1996. Graduating with his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University Law School, he served as Chief Justice of the Honor Court. Mr. Wayne completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Oglethorpe University and holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), and a Master's (MS) and Specialist degree in Professional Counseling also from Georgia State University.
Mr. Wayne began practicing law as a contract attorney to top criminal defense attorneys in Atlanta, working on Federal Criminal Appeals. He then moved on to become a real estate closing attorney. While enjoying his work as a closing attorney, he missed the world of litigation. In 2001, he began his own civil litigation practice while continuing closings. In 2005, Mr. Wayne and his assistant, Caitlin Bareis, dove into the creation of a law practice and Richard C. Wayne & Associates, P.C. was established.
Due to his highly varied education and experience with professional counseling, business and real estate, his areas of practicing law are in business law and litigation, real estate and mortgage fraud, and family law.

Brandy M. Shannon, Senior Associate Attorney

Ms. Shannon graduated with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Law. During her law school years, Ms. Shannon was an active member of the First Amendment Law Review and President of the University's Women in Law. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Shannon attended UNC for her undergraduate studies, receiving a Bachelor of Arts, with Distinction, in History and Afro-American Studies.
Ms. Shannon has been practicing law in Atlanta since 2006. Prior to joining Richard C. Wayne & Associates, P.C., she practiced in the areas of real estate finance and development, as well as in the area of foreclosures, building upon our firm's repertoire of real estate knowledge.

Caitlin M. Bareis, Office Manager

Ms. Bareis graduated from Georgia State University with her B.A. in English and Journalism. With her knowledge and experience in these two areas and a strong familiarity with business practices, her writing, hard work, and entrepreneurial abilities have become significant assets to our firm.
Beginning as Mr. Wayne's assistant, Ms. Bareis and Mr. Wayne collaborated to begin Richard C. Wayne & Associates, P.C. from the ground, up. Ms. Bareis now oversees all support personnel within our firm, handles the firm's public relations, marketing, bookkeeping and client accounts. With a large amount of energy, significant ability to create a collaborative work environment and a strong desire to cultivate a large, continually growing practice, Ms. Bareis has been a driving force in the success of our firm today.

Sarah F. Nagel, Legal Assistant

Ms. Nagel graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice from Georgia College and State University eager to get started in the area of law. Ms. Nagel's vast experience dealing with people on a daily basis adds to the personable and comforting culture our firm is proud to offer all of our clients.
Having completed an internship with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Ms. Nagel has the experience of intense research and investigation skills to aid in the daily success of our firm. After a year with our firm, Ms. Nagel has quickly adapted to our family here and has helped to revamp the office with her organizational abilities.
